Cats Living Longer?

Cats also living longer? Probably. The new feline AIM (Apoptosis Inhibitor of Macrophage) treatment is in clinical trials which are supposed to wrap up this year. If they pan out the treatment could significantly lengthen our tabby’s lives by prevent chronic kidney disease, thereby extending their lives and quality of life. The hype is that the treatment might increase the average lifespan of a cat from around 15 years to up to 30 years, although this number is seen by some as optimistic or exaggerated.
So, what does this have to do with humans living longer? Well, nothing really. But it is interesting how geroscience is advancing across the board.
