Profile: Julie Clark Gibson

Julie Clark Gibson might be one of my favorite people in the rejuvenation Olympics because she’s just so normal. The 55-year-old isn’t absurdly wealthy, she doesn’t take scores of pills and supplements daily, and she doesn’t engage in weird practices like sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber. What she does do is focus ruthlessly on the core things that’ll move the longevity needle, and for that, she’s gotten fantastic results. A middle class, single mom who’s able to compete with the best of them on the Rejuvenation Olympics Leaderboard.
Her longevity routine is largely inspired by Dr. Kara Fitzgerald’s book, Younger You (which I’ll delve into later). She engages in all the typical things you’d expect but really leans into the high-vegetable diet. I particularly like her non-nonsense approach to eating vegetables:
“To meet my goal of 1lb / 0.5kg of veggies daily, I mix up a colorful bowl to nosh on the rest of the day. This is a mixed bag of anything that looks good at the market when I’m there. Sometimes I blanche them, as in the case of broccoli, and sometimes I just sauté them up, but usually they’re raw. This is usually 8-10 ounces / 220-300mg because I know I’ll have some in my drink earlier and more at dinner. It sounds like a lot, but take it slow adding a bit more every week. You’ll be at 1lb in no time. I also add some protein to this – usually chicken, eggs, steak, cheese, whatever is left over or easy to grab”

My Take:
I’d place Gibson in the “workhorse” category. She puts in the work on the important stuff and steers clear of flashy, ineffective fads. For the average person aiming to enhance their health span, I’d say she’s an excellent role model.
Takeaways for You:
The news is filled with all manner of “breakthrough” anti-aging techniques but honestly, you’ll get your best results by mastering the basics: quality sleep, regular exercise, a nutritious diet, meaningful social connections, and effective stress management. Weaving those habits consistently into your life isn’t easy, but the rewards are undeniably worth it. You can find out all about her routines here:
